
Dakota Picks Up Tremaine Fowlkes

BISMARCK, N.D., Jan. 20, 2007 - The Dakota Wizards of the NBA Development League have acquired forward Tremaine Fowlkes and waived guard Brandon Armstrong.
This is Fowlkes' (6-8, 220) third stint in the D-League, having played a combined 52 games for Columbus (2001-02) and Florida (2004-05), averaging 15.3 points and 5.4 rebounds. He was a 2002 First-Team All-D-League selection.
Fowlkes was the sixth Gatorade Call-Up in D-League history, signing with the Los Angeles Clippers on Feb. 23, 2002 while playing in Columbus. He has played in 103 NBA games for the Clippers, Detroit Pistons and Indiana Pacers, averaging 2.9 points and 2.2 rebounds.
Armstrong played in 14 games for the Wizards, averaging 20.6 minutes, 8.8 points and 1.7 rebounds.
Fowlkes is expected to be in uniform for Dakota (15-4) when the Wizards are host to the Fort Worth Flyers (12-6). He will wear jersey #24.
