
'Dads Fall to Bears 4-3 in Exhibition

Hickory, NC - The Hickory Crawdads got an early start to their 2015 season on Tuesday night with a friendly exhibition game against Lenoir-Rhyne University, with the 'Dads falling to the Bears 4-3 in the two teams' first matchup since 2007.
In a game that included numerous pinch hitters and relief pitchers, the Bears struck for one run in the 2nd inning and three more in the 3rd for their four runs. The Crawdads countered with a tally of their own in the 2nd and two in the 6th for the final 4-3 score.
The offensive highlight of the night came from LRU senior outfielder Ivan Vieitez, who lined a solo home run to right field in the 2nd.
The Crawdads will be off on Wednesday before they kick off their South Atlantic League schedule on Thursday, April 9th when the team plays host to the Hagerstown Suns at L.P. Frans Stadium. The 'Dads will remain home through Wednesday, April 15th, with four total games against the Suns and a three game series versus the rival Asheville Tourists. Tickets are now on sale for all 70 Crawdads home games.
