Kannapolis Cannon Ballers News Release

KANNAPOLIS, N.C. (April 7, 2015) - When fans "step up to their plates" this season at CMC-NorthEast Stadium, they will have several new healthy options to choose from. The Kannapolis Intimidators, Class A Affilaite of the Chicago White Sox, have added a new "Ballpark Fit & Fresh Menu" for the 2015 season, presented by Cabarrus Health Alliance, featuring delicious new entrees such as grilled chicken sandwiches, turkey wraps, veggie burgers, and salads.

"Expanding our menu beyond the traditional ballpark fare gives our fans a variety of options for dining at an Intimidators game. Whether parents are trying to make sure their kids eat right or a fan just wants something lighter to eat, we want to be able to cater to them," said Intimidators General Manager Randy Long.

The Ballpark Fit & Fresh Menu - available at the Main Concessions Stand on the concourse - will also have several snack options, including yogurt, fruit, granola bars, harvest blend nuts, and more.

"Making healthy foods and beverages more accessible to our community is a priority for the Cabarrus Health Alliance. By working with the Intimidators to add new healthy items to their menu, we are making the healthy choice the easy choice for fans," said Jessica Montana, REACH Program Coordinator.

In addition to the Ballpark Fit & Fresh Menu, the Intimidators have teamed with new vendors to provide fans more options for in-stadium dining and drinks. Sunset Slush of Kanapolis will be serving classic Italian ice while The Coffee Priest will be brewing up both hot and iced coffee drinks, smoothies, and frozen lemonade. Fan favorites Dippin' Dots as well as Ben & Jerry's are also back for the 2015 season.

Dale's Mater Sandwich is back for the 2015 season - a favorite of the original Intimidator Dale Earnhardt - a tomato sandwich with Duke's mayonnaise. Hebrew National is back as the official hot dog of the Intimidators, and fans can also enjoy Johnsonville Brats at all 70 home games.

The Thirsty Thursday crowd will enjoy new additions to the Intimidators adult beverage options this season, including Shocktop bottles, Angry Orchard cans, and Palm Breeze cans. All beers will be stored in the team's new "chill chamber" to ensure the Intimidators serve the coldest beers in town.

The Intimidators open the 2015 season on the road this week in Lakewood, N.J. The team's home opener is Thursday, April 16, at 7:05 p.m. against the Hickory Crawdads. Gates open at 6 p.m., and the first 1,000 fans will receive a 2015 Magnet Schedule courtesy of Pizza Hut.
