
'Dads Fall in Season Finale, 4-2

Hickory Crawdads News Release
GREENVILLE, SC - The Hickory Crawdads fell in the final game of the 2012 season, 4-2, against the Greenville Drive, before 6,460 fans at Fluor Field in Greenville on Monday afternoon.
The Crawdads (38-32, 74-65) got out to a quick lead with a run against RHP Jason Garcia in the top of the first frame. With two down, 3B Drew Robinson kept the inning alive with a single, before scoring on an RBI double by LF Trever Adams to make it 1-0.
After the game was delayed by rain for 57 minutes in the bottom of the first, Greenville (32-37, 66-73) tied the score in the bottom of the third against RHP Richard Alvarez. 2B Jose Garcia started the stanza with a solo shot over the left field wall, knotting it at 1-1.
The Drive moved in front with three more runs against RHP Paul Schwendel (L, 1-2) in the bottom of the fourth frame. With runners at first and third, CF Henry Ramos brought in 3B Garin Cecchini from third with a ground ball and also reached on an error on the play. An RBI fielder's choice by RF Drew Turocy brought in 1B Boss Moanaroa from third base, and then Turocy came in later in the inning on an RBI base hit by LF Matt Marquis, opening the 4-1 lead.
The Crawdads refused to go down quietly, with Adams opening the top of the ninth by doubling down the left field line. After C Kevin Torres worked a walk, Adams advanced to third base on a double play ball hit by 1B Jorge Alfaro. With two down, Adams raced home on a wild pitch unleashed by RHP Tyler Lockwood (S, 9), bringing the 'Dads within two runs of tying it. However, Lockwood induced a pop out from DH Alejandro Selen, closing the 4-2 win for the Drive. LHP Dylan Chavez (W, 1-2) dealt three scoreless relief innings for Greenville, earning the win.
