
D-Fenders Fall to Jam

EL SEGUNDO - The Los Angeles D-Fenders fell to the Bakersfield Jam 112-100 tonight in El Segundo.
Los Angeles (9-20) was led by Vander Blue who tallied 26 points, seven assists and five rebounds. Jamaal Franklin nearly recorded a triple-double with 21 points, nine assists and nine rebounds. Jabari Brown scored 15 points, while Roscoe Smith recorded his league-leading 22nd double-double of the season with 10 points and 10 rebounds. Andre Ingram also reached double digits with 13 points for the D-Fenders.
Suns assignment player Archie Goodwin paced the Jam (20-9) with 28 points and 12 rebounds, while his assignee teammate Reggie Bullock added 25 points and 10 rebounds. Mac Koshwal (14 points, 15 rebounds, 10 assists), Casey Prather (13 points, five rebounds), Jerel McNeal (12 points) and Jamil Wilson (12 points, seven rebounds) also scored in double figures for Bakersfield.
The first quarter was slow for the D-Fenders, who scored 16 points, while the Jam had 24. Andre Ingram led L.A. with eight points in the first, while Bullock also had eight for Bakersfield. The D-Fenders found their rhythm in the second quarter, outscoring the Jam 33-31. Franklin led all scorers with 12 points on the quarter, while Goodwin had 10 for Bakersfield. At the half, L.A. trailed 55-49, with Franklin the leading scorer with 12 points. Goodwin had 17 through the first half for the Jam.
The third quarter was another positive for the D-Fenders, who outscored the Jam 28-24 behind 16 points from Blue. The Jam were paced by Bullock and held a 79-77 lead after three quarters. Los Angeles struggled in the fourth quarter, tallying 23 points, while the Jam had 33. Prather had nine big points for the Jam, who held on to win 112-100.
Los Angeles shot .411 on the night, compared to .477 for Bakersfield. The D-Fenders were outrebounded 57-41, while also losing the points in the paint battle 66-44.
