Warriors Split Weekend Series in Reno

February 1, 2015 - NBA G League (G League)
Santa Cruz Warriors News Release

RENO, Nevada - The Santa Cruz Warriors were defeated by the Reno Bighorns 157-132 Saturday night in a sharpshooting contest that made D-League history.

James Michael McAdoo had another explosive night after notching a game-high 39 points and 11 rebounds in last night's contest against the Bighorns. Tonight, he finished with 36 points and 15 rebounds on a 17 of 27 shooting effort. Dominique Sutton came off the bench to score 16 points and 9 rebounds, while Aaron Craft and Elliot Williams added 14 apiece.

Reno was paced by Jordan Hamilton and Ra'Shad James who scored 33 apiece. David Stockton made five three-point shots, finishing with 30 points on the night. David Wear also had five three-pointers, for a total of 27 points in the win over Santa Cruz.

Reno could not contain McAdoo in the first half of the game as he gave the Warriors a massive boost behind his 26 first-half points. Though Reno would come up short in defending McAdoo's offensive dominance, they would offset his big play with a barrage of sharpshooting. At the break, the Bighorns were shooting 70% from the field, and 76% from beyond the arc, icing 19 three-pointers in the first two quarters.

Reno's accuracy from the field did not let up during the second half of the game. In the fourth quarter, the Bighorns broke the D-League record for the most three-point shots made in a game, tallying 31 overall.

Though Reno kept the edge on field goal percentage (59%-52%), Santa Cruz outrebounded the Bighorns (47-37), and committed fewer turnovers, (17-23).

The Santa Cruz Warriors will travel to Bakersfield to take on the Jam on Thursday night. Fans can listen to the broadcast on the Santa Cruz Warriors flagship station, KION 1460AM/101.1FM, or catch the game on the NBA D-League's YouTube channel, via http://www.santacruzbasketball.com.?
