
D-Fenders Fall Short against Skyforce

EL SEGUNDO, CA - The Los Angeles D-Fenders fell to the Sioux Falls Skyforce, stumbling 104-92 at Toyota Sports Center on Saturday night.
Trailing by just one point at halftime and still down one after the third quarter, the D-Fenders (5-7) were outscored 25-14 in the final frame and the Skyforce (10-6) took the road victory. After winning three consecutive contests, the D-Fenders have now lost three straight games dating back to December 28th.
Assigned from the Los Angeles Lakers earlier in the day, Robert Sacre tallied 22 points (10-17 FG) and five rebounds for the D-Fenders. Additionally, Courtney Fortson (17 points, 6 rebounds, 3 steals), Darius Johnson-Odom (15 points, 4 rebounds, 5 assists), Elijah Millsap (14 points, 4 assists) and Ronald DuPree (13 points, 6 rebounds) each finished in double-digits. Meanwhile, Anthony Stover chipped in season-highs in blocks (5) and rebounds (12) in his first start of the year for Los Angeles.
Sioux Falls was led by Donald Sloan (22 points, 10 rebounds) and Mychel Thompson (18 points) on the night. Arnett Moultrie, a Philadelphia 76ers assignment player, totaled 12 points along with 10 rebounds, Dexter Pittman, a Miami Heat assignment player, tallied 12 points and six rebounds, Mark Tyndale posted 12 points, and Demetris Nichols contributed 12 points in the win.
Los Angeles will next travel to Reno, NV for a back-to-back set of games at the 2013 NBA Development League Showcase. The team will face Rio Grande Valley on Monday, Jan. 7 at 10am and will play the following day against Iowa at 7pm.
