
D.C. United Trades for Midfielder Alex Caskey

Washington, D.C. (March 3, 2014) - D.C. United today announced that the club has traded for former Seattle Sounders FC midfielder Alex Caskey in exchange for a third-round pick in the 2016 MLS SuperDraft.
"Alex has had two solid seasons in Seattle, and he will provide us with great cover across the midfield," said D.C. United General Manager Dave Kasper. "We look forward to having him on board."
Caskey, 25, made 30 appearances (17 starts) over the past two seasons for Sounders FC, scoring one goal with four assists, and finished third on the team in assists his rookie season. Across all competitions, he started 29 of 42 appearances, registering three goals and seven assists in 2,469 minutes. Caskey was originally selected in the third round (47th overall) of the 2011 MLS SuperDraft and was signed on March 13, 2012.
D.C. United kicks off its 19th season on Sat., March 8 against Eastern Conference opponent Columbus Crew at 7 p.m. at RFK Stadium. For tickets for the regular season home opener, please click here.
