Alex Caskey Traded to D.C. United

RENTON, WASH. - Seattle Sounders FC has traded midfielder Alex Caskey to D.C. United in exchange for a third-round pick in the 2016 MLS SuperDraft, the club announced today.

Caskey, 25, made 30 appearances (17 starts) over the past two seasons for Sounders FC, scoring one goal with four assists. Across all competitions, he started 29 of 42 appearances, registering three goals and seven assists in 2,469 minutes. Caskey was originally selected in the third round (47th overall) of the 2011 MLS SuperDraft and was signed on March 13, 2012.

Sounders FC kicks off the league's 19th season next Saturday against the MLS Cup champion Sporting Kansas City on NBC Sports Network. Kickoff is set for 12 p.m. PT on the Xbox Pitch at CenturyLink Field.
