D.C. United Sets First Round Broadcast Schedule

WASHINGTON, DC (October 19, 2004) - D.C. United today announced the broadcast schedule for the club's two-game, aggregate goal, first round series with the MetroStars. The Black-and-Red will first travel north to face the MetroStars at Giants Stadium on Saturday, October 23rd at 7:30 p.m. ET. That game will be televised live locally by United's television broadcast partner Comcast SportsNet following the network's one-hour SportsNite, with live pre-game coverage of the upcoming match. The game will also be televised live nationally by Fox Sports World. The return leg will be played at RFK Stadium on Saturday, October 30th at 7:00 p.m. ET. Fox Sports World and HDNet will televise the second game nationally. Radio play-by-play of both matches will be aired by WMET 1160 AM and by the United Spanish Radio Network (Radio America 1540 AM, Radio Fiesta 1480 AM and Latino Mix 1350 AM). As always, fans can catch all of the action at www.dcunited.com .

D.C. United enters the post-season as one of the hottest clubs in Major League Soccer. The Black-and-Red have won five of their last six League matches and produced their best regular season record since 1999. Despite exiting the 2003 MLS Cup playoffs in the first round, D.C. United has a storied playoff past. The club played in the MLS Cup Finals four consecutive seasons dating from 1996-1999. United earned three championships in that span, taking home the trophy in 1996, 1997 and 1999.

D.C. United is offering a special Blackout playoff package of four tickets and four Blackout 2004 MLS Cup Playoff t-shirts for as low as $88. Groups of 10 or more and D.C. United plan holders can also purchase tickets at a reduced rate by calling D.C. United at 202-587-5000 or by visiting the Tickets section of dcunited.com. Individual tickets for United's home match are now on sale through all TicketMaster outlets, Charge by Phone and ticketmaster.com, as well as through dcunited.com. Great seats will be available from $22 to $45.

Should D.C. United advance beyond the opening round, the Black-and-Red would play November 6th in the Eastern Conference Championship Game with broadcast plans to be announced at a later date. The winner of the Conference Final travels to Los Angeles to represent the Eastern Conference in MLS Cup at the Home Depot Center on November 14th. The championship match will be televised live nationally by ABC.
