D.C. United News Release
Washington, D.C. (March 8, 2007) - D.C. United has been named as one of three finalists for the 2007 PRISM Award, which recognizes American professional sport franchises that demonstrate industry-leading excellence and innovation in sport franchise management. Given by the University of Massachusetts' Department of Sport Management, the winner will be named later in the spring.
"This recognition is both an honor and a testament to the hard work our front office staff puts in each day," said United Executive Vice President Stephen Zack.
United was also a finalist for the annual award in 2005 and 2006, which is presented to the major league team that best exemplifies the PRISM ideals across five criteria: managing human resources, marketing (branding, advertising and promotion), fan development, community relations and customer/client service.
