
D.C. United Defender Steven Birnbaum Undergoes Ankle Surgery

D.C. United News Release
WASHINGTON, DC - D.C. United defender Steven Birnbaum underwent additional surgery on his ankle to decompress nerves and remove part of the talus bone with chronic inflammation.
Dr. Robert Anderson of Bellin Health Titletown Sports Medicine and Orthopedics in Green Bay, Wisconsin, performed the surgery.
Birnbaum is expected to be sidelined for approximately 12-15 weeks as he completes rehabilitation.
