Washington, D.C. (October 2, 2006) - D.C. United players will be making a number of public appearances this week. On Tuesday, Josh Gros and Devon McTavish will be reading with kids at Smothers Elementary School as part United for D.C.'s United Reads program. Also on Tuesday, Alecko Eskandarian, Bobby Boswell and Andy Metcalf will be playing in the Greater Washington Sports Alliance Poker Tournament aboard the Potomac Riverboat Company's 'Cherry Blossom' boat. Jamil Walker and Clyde Simms will take part in the United Reads program on Wednesday, reading to children at Payne Elementary School, while Alecko Eskandarian and Rod Dyachenko will visit Howard Road Academy for United Reads on Thursday. Brandon Prideaux will attend the Arlington Columbus Day Tournament on Sunday, while Matias Donnet will be at the Cox Communications Hispanic Heritage Fesitval, also on Sunday.
