
D.C. United announces Copa D.C. IX details

D.C. United News Release
Washington, D.C. (October 5, 2009) -- D.C. United announced today event details for 'Copa D.C. IX,' the yearly 6v6 indoor tournament hosted by the club and presented by Volkswagen. The opening rounds of the tournament will kickoff on Saturday, November 7 at the Rockville SportsPlex, with the quarterfinals, semis and final taking place on Sunday, November 8.
Teams are guaranteed three 40-minute games, 12 tournament t-shirts, 12 gift bags and 12 tickets to D.C. United's 2010 season home opener - all for a $399 entry fee. Teams are limited to a maximum of 12 players per team and the registration deadline will be Monday, October 26.
The champion of 'Copa D.C. IX' will receive a check for $3,000, a trophy and 12 first place medals. The runner-up will receive a check for $1,500 and second place medals, the third place team a $1,000 check and third place medals, while the fourth place team will receive a $399 check and fourth place medals.
