Kingsport, TN - The Braves successfully clinched a spot in the playoffs with a 7-5 victory over the Kingsport Mets on Tuesday night. Their win combined with Pulaski beating Princeton sends the Danville Braves back to the playoffs after missing out in 2010. Edison Sanchez and Fernando De Los Santos helped lead the charge when they both homered in the fourth inning of Tuesday's game.

Kingsport took the lead off of Greg Ross right away in the bottom of the first inning. The Mets had their first two batters on base when Ross threw a ball away on an attempted pickoff that moved the runners up a base each. Camden Maron followed with a two run double to center field to give the Mets a 2-0 lead.

It was in the fourth inning that the Braves finally got to Juan Urbina. The Braves were able to take a four run lead when they scored six runs in the inning. Brandon Drury, the second batter of the inning, doubled before Billy Beckwith singled him home to put the Braves on the board. Edison Sanchez then homered for his second time this year and second time within the last week. The two run shot gave the Braves a 3-2 lead with just one out in the inning.

Chase Larsson doubled after Sanchez's homerun for his 12th time this season. Nick De Santiago walked before Fernando De Los Santos connected for his first homerun of the year. The three run homer capped off a six run inning and gave the Braves a 6-2 lead.

The Mets responded by getting one of the runs back in the bottom half of the inning. Luke Stewart tripled off of Ross and then Julio Concepcion singled to score him.

Ross was replaced by Ernesto Silva to start off the seventh inning. After two quick groundouts, Silva gave up a single and stolen base to Chad Zurcher. Juan Carlos Gamboa made it a one run game when he homered to right field. The score was 6-5 after seven frames.

The Braves extended their lead a little further in the top of the ninth. Brandon Drury's sacrifice fly scored Kyle Kubitza who doubled and stole second.

Joe Lucas relieved Silva for the ninth inning. He allowed just one walk before striking out Dylan Brown for his sixth save of the season.

Greg Ross earned his seventh victory of the year. He went six innings and gave up three earned runs on six hits. He struck out just one on the night. His seven wins are good for second best in the Appalachian League. Juan Urbina was saddled with the loss after giving up six runs on six hits in four innings.

The Braves will try to complete the sweep of the Mets tomorrow and try to inch closer to a division title. The Bluefield Blue Jays lost on Tuesday night which put the D-Braves just one game back in the division.

So far, the Braves are 4-1 on their current road trip with just seven games left this season. Six of which will be played at home.

Their final homestand begins Thursday, August 25 when they take on Johnson City and Bluefield three times a piece.
