Pulaski Mariners News Release
PULASKI, VA - There is still much in store as the Pulaski Mariner's 2011 season comes to an end this weekend. The Mariners final home stand begins August 25th till the 27th and will feature members of the Pulaski County Chamber of Commerce, State Farm Insurance agents, and Jersey Night with a special appearance from Marine Staff Sergeant Jeremy Austin of Pulaski.
Kicking off the festivities on Thursday is Pulaski County Chamber of Commerce Night at the ballpark. Members of the Chamber will sponsor each inning and provide free giveaways throughout the night. Businesses sponsoring innings are Express Employment Professionals, Pulaski Bikes, Lyon Metal Roofing, ShipOnSite, Pulaski Fresh Farm-to-Table, BAE Systems, Advanced Health Services, RA Homebuilders, and Virginia Retirement Specialists. Chamber President Angie Covey will be throwing out the first pitch.
Friday night is State Farm Night at the ballpark! State Farm agents Webb Donald and Deanie Hall will be sponsoring the game. They will come with the Good Neighbear mascot, along with plenty of giveaways for fans throughout the night. There will also be a drawing for a game system later in the game. So be sure to come out for free prizes all night long from State Farm!
The final regular season home game will be Jersey Night at Calfee Park. Come wearing any type of athletic jersey and receive $1.00 off a general admission or reserved seat ticket. Also, Advanced Health Services will be at the ballpark on behalf of Homes for Our Troops to help raise money for local Pulaski resident Staff Sergeant Jeremy Austin. Sergeant Austin lost both of his legs while on his fifth deployment when his HUMVEE was hit with an IED. The Homes for Our Troops organization is looking to build Austin a house that will cater to his needs. Come support Sergeant Austin and the Pulaski Mariners Saturday night as they take on the Kingsport Mets. Staff Sergeant Austin will be throwing out the first pitch.
