April 10, 2016 - ECHL (ECHL)
Cincinnati Cyclones News Release
Cincinnati, OH - With their win over the Quad City Mallards on Saturday night, coupled with Ft. Wayne's overtime win over the Indy Fuel, the Cincinnati Cyclones have wrapped up the seventh seed in the Western Conference and will take on the Ft. Wayne Komets in the first round of the 2016 ECHL Kelly Cup Playoffs.
The series will start in Ft. Wayne, who will host Game 1 and Game 2 on Friday and Saturday, April 15 and 16. The series will then shift to Cincinnati for Game 3 and Game 4 on Wednesday and Friday, April 20 and 22. The Cyclones will also host Game 5 if necessary on Saturday, April 23, before heading back to Ft. Wayne for Game 6 and Game 7 on Monday and Wednesday, April 25 and 27, if necessary.
Cyclones Playoff tickets start at $16.00 for rows two and higher, and $29.50 for all first row seats, and the team has also announced a pair of promotions for the first round of the playoffs, including $1 beers for Game 3 and Game 5, and $1 John Morrell hot dogs for Game 4. The Cyclones also offer playoff packages starting at $256 per seat, which includes all 16 potential playoff games. Current 36-game full-season ticket holders already have Game 1 and Game 2 of the 2016 playoffs included in their season ticket packages, therefore 14-game plans are available starting at $224 per seat.
The Cyclones and Komets met 10 times during the regular season, with Cincinnati compiling a 5-4-1-0 record. Neither team was able to find an offensive edge, as both sides were tied, 33-33, in goals scored.
This will be the eighth time since returning to the ECHL prior to the 2006-2007 season that the Cyclones will be participating in the Kelly Cup Playoffs. Cincinnati won the Kelly Cup in 2008 and again in 2010, and made a third trip to the Kelly Cup Finals in 2014.
