August 15, 2007 - New York-Penn League (NYPL)
Brooklyn Cyclones News Release
Brooklyn, NY, August 15, 2007 - Who needs a million when you can have two? It was just three short years ago that the Class A Brooklyn Cyclones celebrated their millionth fan passing through the turnstiles at KeySpan Park in Coney Island. On Saturday, August 18th at 6 PM when the Cyclones play the cross-town rival Staten Island Yankees, the team anticipates its two millionth fan will enter the Brooklyn ballpark, reaching the milestone faster than any team in its classification's history. Tickets are still available by phone at 718-507-TIXX (8499), or online at www.brooklyncyclones.com
"The best baseball fans can be found right here in Brooklyn," said Steve Cohen, General Manager of the Brooklyn Cyclones. "When we reached the million mark three years ago, it was a great accomplishment. To reach the two million mark so soon after is truly remarkable and we are all very proud."
The Cyclones are quite familiar with breaking records, dating back to their inaugural season in 2001 when they set the New York-Penn League (NYPL) attendance record at season's end. Last season, the Cyclones sat atop the NYPL in total attendance with 289,323, averaging over 100 percent capacity per game in the 7,500-seat KeySpan Park.
