WHEELING, West Virginia - The Cincinnati Cyclones used a pair of first period power play goals from Matt Syroczynski to propel the club to a 4-3 win over the Wheeling Nailers on Wednesday night. The triumph evens the best of seven series at two games apiece with game five coming on Friday night at WesBanco Arena (MAX-FM 97.7 and 99.5).

The Cyclones raced to a 2-0 first period lead, as third year forward Matt Syroczynski netted a pair of power play goals. Syroczynski's first score came at 4:25 when he fired a shot from the top of the goal crease. Barret Ehgoetz and Jimmy Kilpatrick had the assists. Syroczynski's second man-advantage goal of the night came at 5:38, again from Kilpatrick and Ehgoetz. He now leads the ECHL in power play goals in the postseason with four. The shots on goal favored Wheeling, 10-8, in the frame.

The Nailers cut the deficit to 2-1 when Tommy Goebel netted his second of the postseason at 1:11. Cincinnati re-established the two goal cushion when Dustin Sproat netted his third goal of the playoffs at 17:10 when the team was shorthanded. Bryan O'Hanley led a two-on-one charge out of the Cyclones end and worked the right wing side before leaving a drop pass for the trailing Sproat. The shots on goal in the period favored Cincinnati, 20-10.

Cincinnati pushed the lead out to 4-1 when Jimmy Kilpatrick scored his first pro playoff goal at 1:26 from Sproat and Jake Dietrich. A pair of goals from Aaron Clarke at 9:30 and 19:32 brought Wheeling to within 4-3-but that is how the game ended. The Nailers outshot Cincinnati, 10-7, in the third period. For the game Cincinnati held the upper hand in shots at 35-30. The Cyclones were two-for-five on the power play, while Wheeling was zero-for-six.
