Victoria Salmon Kings News Release
Victoria, BC - The Save-On-Foods Memorial Centre is proud to announce that one of the stars from WALKING WITH DINOSAURS - The Arena Spectacular will be in Victoria for a special sneak peek tomorrow!
Baby T-Rex will be at a pair of events on tomorrow First stop at the Shaw TV studios for a media event and the second event will be at the Save-On-Foods Memorial Centre for the first intermission of Game 4 of the Victoria Salmon Kings and Idaho Steelheads West Division Semi-Final.
"This is a tremendous opportunity for the people of Victoria to get a taste of what awaits them at the Save-On-Foods Memorial Centre in May," said Dave Dakers Executive Director for RG Sports and Entertainment. "When you see how realistic these dinosaurs are it takes the excitement level to an entirely different level."
The Save-On-Foods Memorial Centre will have eight performances of WALKING WITH DINOSAURS - The Arena Spectacular from May 6-10. This monumental show has sold out performances and broken records in arenas all over the America - generating $100 million in ticket sales to date. It has been seen on "The Today Show," Good Morning America," "Live with Regis and Kelly," and has been written about in Newsweek, The New York Times, the Christian Science Monitor and the Wall Street Journal. It was the subject of a Discovery Channel Really Big Things episode and a video clue category on Jeopardy.
Ten species are represented from the entire 200 million year reign of the dinosaurs. The show includes the Tyrannosaurus Rex, the terror of the ancient terrain, as well as the Plateosaurus and Liliensternus from the Triassic period, the Stegosaurus and Allosaurus from the Jurassic period and Torosaurus and Utahraptor from the awesome Cretaceous. The largest of them, the Brachiosaurus is 36 feet tall, and 56 feet from nose to tail. It took a team of 50 - including engineers, fabricators, skin makers, artists and painters, and animatronic experts - a year to build the original production.
Tickets are available by visiting the Select Your Tickets Box Office outside the Save-On-Foods Memorial Centre front entrance, on the web at www.selectyourtickets.com or by phoning 250-220-7777.
