Cyclones lose third in a row
July 15, 2005 - New York-Penn League (NYPL)
Brooklyn Cyclones News Release
The Cyclones' struggles continued on Friday night as they lost their third game in a row, and their fifth consecutive game at KeySpan Park. The Brooklyn bats would not come alive tonight as the Cyclones (13-10) lost 7-3 and were unable to avoid being swept at the hands of the Williamsport Crosscutters (12-12). The game was close most of the way, but Williamsport leadoff hitter, Brett Lillibridge, blasted a three-run homer in the ninth to put the game out of reach.
Jorge Reyes (2-2) started off well for the Cyclones before getting in trouble in the fifth. He gave up just one unearned run in the first four innings before allowing three more in the fifth. Reliever, Kevin Tomasiewicz gave up the big three-run knock in the ninth.
Brooklyn tried to rally in the ninth. Caleb Stewart's leadoff triple got things going as the Cyclones added two runs, but the comeback attempt fell short. Second Basemen, Armand Gaerlan went 2-4 with a solo home run, and two RBI in the third inning. It was his second round tripper of the season.
The Cyclones will get a chance to turn things around tomorrow as the Auburn Doubledays come to Brooklyn for a three game set. Great seats are still available for the game. You can get tickets by calling (718)-507-TIXX, go to BrooklynCyclones.com or come down to the KeySpan Park box office beginning at 10:00 am.
