Brooklyn Cyclones News Release

The Cyclones clinched the McNamara Division title on an 11th inning balk to win the game 3-2. For the second night in a row, the Cyclones got great pitching and late-inning heroics. The game remained scoreless through the first three frames until Jason Jacobs cranked his New York-Penn League-best eleventh home run of the season in the bottom of the 4th to put the Cyclones on top, 1-0. Lowell, however, would go on score two runs in the top of the 6th to take a 2-1 lead.

Just as they did the night before, Brooklyn brought out their bats in the 9th inning. With one out and the bases empty, Lucas Duda hit a triple to right-centerfield. After Will Vogl came in to pinch run, J.R. Voyles hit a sacrifice fly to center field to bring home Vogl and just like that the game was tied.tie the game.

Brooklyn then won the game, and the division title, in the most unlikely of manners. With two outs and runners on first and third, Lowell pitcher, Ryne Miller, was called for a balk to bring home the winning run.

The Cyclones' pitching staff kept Brooklyn in the game all night. Starter Dylan Gee pitched six strong innings, giving up only two runs and five hits, while striking out six. Relievers Stephen Clyne and Eddie Kunz each pitched a pair of scoreless innings for the Cyclones. Brant Rustich pitched a perfect 11th inning to record the win.

The Cyclones will wrap up the regular season Friday night against Lowell on a busy night at KeySpan Park. The first 2,500 fans will receive a Brooklyn Bridge Bobblehead, courtesy of KeySpan. Friday is also Fireworks Night and Fan Appreciation Night. BirdZerk will also be making an appearance at KeySpan Park.

Playoff tickets are also on sale now. The Cyclones will host Game Two and Game Three of the first Semi-Final round against Staten Island on Monday and Tuesday (with Tuesday's Game Three if necessary).
