Brooklyn Cyclones News Release

The Cyclones' Magic Number is down to one.

That means that one Cyclones win or one Staten Island loss in the final two games would clinch the McNamara Division for Brooklyn, and assure the Cyclones of home-field advantage in the playoffs. It would also mean that the Cyclones and Yankees would face each other in the first round of the NYPL Playoffs.

The Cyclones lead the Yankees by 1.5 games with two to play heading into Thursday's action. Brooklyn is home against Lowell at 7PM and Staten Island is home against Tri-City at 7PM.

PLAYOFF TICKETS: Cyclones tickets for the 2007 Playoffs are on sale NOW at brooklyncyclones.com, by phone at 718-507-TIXX, or in person at the KeySpan Park and Shea Stadium box offices.

Entering play on Thursday, the Cyclones have clinched a playoff spot, and are now battling for the McNamara Division crown. Brooklyn needs to win one of its final two games to clinch the division crown, ensuring home-field advantage in the NYPL Playoffs.

The NYPL Playoffs begin on September 9th, and consist of two, best-of-three series. In the first round (Semi-Finals). the team with the best overall record will play the Wild Card team (best winning percentage among non-division winners), and the remaining two division winners will face each other. The two winners of the Semi-Final matchups will play each other for the league championship.

In each series, the division winner with the best regular-season record will play the first game of the series on the road, and then host a minimum of one and a maximum of two ptential home games. The Wild Card team, regardless of record, will host only the first game of the series.

(For example, if the season were to end today, Brooklyn would play at Staten Island on September 9th, and then at KeySpan Park on September 10th, and if necessary, September 11th.)

The Cyclones will play a minimum of one home playoff game, and a maximum of four. Tickets are on sale now for all four potential home Playoff games at KeySpan Park, designated games A-D. The actual game dates, times, and opponents will be announced as the standings are finalized.

Full Season Ticket Holders receive FREE Playoff Tickets with their purchase, and can pick up those tickets at the KeySpan Park Ticket Window, or at a designated table on the concourse level during games.

Anyone else interested in purchasing Playoff tickets can do so by calling 718-507-TIXX.

In the event your game is not played, the credit card you used for payment will automatically be credited for the face value and per ticket fees for tickets purchased through this offer. The tickets will have NO value and should NOT be returned to Cyclones.

FAN APPRECIATION DAY: On Friday, September 7th, the Cyclones will give away one of the most unique items of the summer. The first 2,500 fans in attendance that night will receive a Brooklyn Bridge Bobblehead, courtesy of KeySpan.
