St. Charles Chill News Release
St. Charles, Mo. - Denver peppered Chill goalie Linus Lundin with 43 shots but St. Charles battled back from a 3-0 second period deficit to close within a goal on Kyle O'Kane's ninth but an empty netter from Garett Bembridge, his 30th, counted for the final tally.
The Cutthroats (11-6-4) started the scoring off midway through the first period when Garett Bembridge padded his CHL lead in goals with his 19th as Troy Schwab added his 24th assist. Denver made it 2-0 with eight seconds left in the opening frame when TJ Fox netted his third of the season. St. Charles would pick up the intensity in the second.
The Chill (4-11-4) brought the energy in the second period, and after the Cutthroats made it 3-0, Anthony Perdicaro lit the lamp with his sixth goal and 15th point, one shy of team-leader Jordan Fox, who did not skate tonight due to a lower body injury. Andrew Conboy and Nick Lindberg picked up the assists on the Perdicaro goal and the Chill continued to go toe to toe with the Cutthroats.
The third period was end-to-end scoreless action before O'Kane's goal from Dan Weiss closed the score to 3-2 midway through the third period. With time winding down St. Charles went with an extra skater and Bembridge added his league-best 20th goal on the empty net for the final score of 4-2.
The Chill is back on the ice Tuesday and Wednesday night in Rapid City and Denver, respectily. Tune in to all the live action at www.talkstl.com or by downloading the TalkSTL app on your mobile phone.
