PRESCOTT VALLEY, Ariz. - The Arizona Sundogs jumped out to a 3-0, first period lead and never looked back in a 5-2 win over the Denver Cutthroats on Friday night at Tim's Toyota Center to take game two of a three-game set between the two teams this week in front of an announced crowd of 2,611.

David Brown stopped 32 shots for the Sundogs to hold the Cutthroats in check, who received goals from Gabriel Beaupre and Gabe Gauthier.

The Sundogs (5-2-2) took control of the game with a three-goal first period. Keith Wynn opened up the scoring 2:58 into the contest and Jeff Kyrzakos added two more at 7:18 and 11:40 for his second straight game against the Cutthroats (3-5-0) with a pair of tallies.

Beaupre put the Cutthroats on the board with just over three minutes to play on a rebound goal at the left side of the crease for his second of the season and a 3-1 deficit.

Arizona extended their lead in period two on a power play goal from Mario Larocque at 3:51 and a shorthanded goal by Chad Nehring at 9:27. Nerhing's shorthanded goal was the first given up by the Cutthroats this season.

Gauthier's third period strike came with 2:17 to play for his second of the year.

Denver's Kent Patterson was pulled from the game midway through the second period after stopping 18 of 23 shots. Kieran Millan came on in relief, turning aside all 13 shots he faced on the night.

The Cutthroats finished 0-for-5 on the power play, while the Sundogs went 2-for-4.
