WEST HAVEN, CT - Centerfielder Ervin Alcantara blasted two two-run homers (3,4) and newcomer RHP Bucky Kosyk (1-0) earned the win in his first start of the year in the New Haven County Cutters 11-2 victory over the Nashua Pride, Saturday night, in the second of a four-game series at Historic Yale Field.

The Cutters pounded out fourteen hits including a two-run home run from shortstop Chas Terni (2). Overall, Terni went 3-for-5 with 3 RBI.

Pride starter RHP Lance Stevens (1-1) began the night with the Can-Am League's top ERA (0.76) but was knocked around for seven earned runs on eights in 3.1 innings to suffer his first defeat.

Signed six days ago by the Cutters, Kosyk was extremely effective in 5.0 innings of work as he did not allow an earned run on four hits while posting six strikeouts.

The Pride were held to just four total hits as Cutters' relievers RHP Adam Piechowski and LHP Mike Joyce each tossed 2.0 hitless and scoreless innings.

Five different Cutters collected multi-hit games including second baseman Matt Mercurio who went 3-for-4 with a triple and three runs scored.

Game three of the four-game series is set for Sunday. Game time is 1:05 pm.
