The Capitales got a solid performance from starting pitcher Kevin Beavers, who shut out the Spirit over seven innings, allowing five hits and striking out five batters. The game was scoreless after the first three innings, but Quebec picked up a 2-0 lead in the fourth thanks to an RBI triple by 1B Mike Galloway and a sacrifice fly by C Greg Stevens. Leading the way offensively for the Capitales was 2B Eddie Lantigua, who went 2-for-4 on the night and scored two runs. Quebec sits just 1.5 games back of New Jersey for the league lead.

In back-to-back at-bats, the Worcester Tornadoes scored four runs to break a scoreless tie in the bottom of the third inning. First RF Andrew Wishy picked up a two-run double with the bases loaded, then C Yohanny Valera singled in Wishy and 1B Chris Colabello. LF Josh Beauregard would add to the lead in the following inning, hitting his first home run of the season to give his team a 5-0 lead. With a comfortable working lead, starting Worcester pitcher Alex Pena pitched six impressive innings, allowing no runs on only four hits with three strikeouts.

New Haven County 11, Nashua 2

The Cutters used two four-run innings, both highlighted by CF Ervin Alcantara two two-run home runs, to demolish Nashua 11-2 Saturday night. Alcantara was 2-for-4 on the night with two runs and four RBI. Cutters SS Chas Terni joined Alcantara's home-run party in the bottom of the eighth inning to cap off the scoring for the Cutters. Starting New Haven County pitcher Bucky Kosyk picked up his first win of the season with a solid five-inning performance. Kosyk allowed two runs on four hits with three walks and six strikeouts.

Sussex 8, Atlantic City 0

Starting Sussex pitcher Vince Davis had a solid complete-game effort against Atlantic City. Davis allowed six hits and five walks while striking out seven Atlantic City batters. With the win, Davis evened up his record to 2-2 on the season. On offense, the Skyhawks took full advantage of four Surf errors, scoring eight runs on only eight hits. Skyhawks 2B Rob Gandolfo led the way with a 3-for-5 night, batting in two runs and scoring one of his own. Also with two RBI on the night for the Skyhawks was 3B Brian Rios, who went 2-for-5 on the night.

New Jersey 10, Grays 8

Trailing 10-6 entering the bottom of the ninth inning, the Grays couldn't quite muster a comeback. They scored two runs and had runners on first and seconds with no outs. But New Jersey closer Rusty Tucker sat down the next three batters in order, including two strikeouts. It was a back-and-forth game most of the night as New Jersey took an early lead, only to fall behind 6-3 in the middle innings. But the Jackals scored seven runs from the fifth to the eighth inning, including DH Sandy Madera's seventh home run of the season to give them the lead for good.
