New Haven County Cutters News Release
WEST HAVEN, CT - The New Haven County Cutters announced the signing of RHP Stephen Spitaleri on Wednesday. The 6'3 Spitaleri just finished playing in his senior season at St. Peters College in Jersey City, NJ.
During the 2007 season, he compiled a 2-1 record in 10 appearances for the Peacocks pitching in 19 innings. Before joining the Peacocks this past season, Spitaleri pitched for Dominican College. With the division two chargers in 2005, Spitaleri struck out 25 batters in 27 and two-third innings.
"He's a big strong kid with a good fastball," Manager Mike Church said. "Hopefully he can come in, throw strikes, and throw some strong innings for us."
Spitaleri, who grew up in Saddle Brook, NJ figures to be another key addition to the Cutters improving bullpen as they look to make a run at the second half title.
