Cutters Hot Going Into Final Home Stand of the Season

The Williamsport Crosscutters begin their final home stand of the season this Wednesday through Friday (Sept. 5-7) at Historic Bowman Field against the Batavia MuckDogs. All game times are 7:05pm

The Crosscutters have won 9 of their last 11 games while some Williamsport players have been making a name for themselves as the season winds down. RHP Drew Naylor currently leads the league in strikeouts (97) and innings pitched (93.1) while ranking 2nd overall in wins (8) and OF Matt Spencer is tied for 2nd for the home run title with 9.

Highlights of the final home stand include the 8th Annual Belly-Buster Competition on Wednesday presented by Economy Locker Storage, makers of The Country Store brand of meats. Ten "lucky" fans will have the opportunity to take part in the annual eating competition.

Thursday, the first 500 fans through the gates will receive a water bottle courtesy of the Lycoming County United Way Home Run Team sponsors. Ceremonies prior to the game will honor the 2007 Cutters Home Run Team Player of the Year. After the game, fans will have a chance to win great prizes in Launch-A-Ball.

On Friday it's the final game of the 2007 season and Fan Appreciation Night presented by Waste Management. Every fan attending the game will receive a coupon for a free ticket to a 2008 Williamsport Crosscutters home game. In addition, there will be great prizes and discounts throughout the ballpark. Fans arriving early will have the opportunity to come on the field and take photos of and with their favorite Cutters players. Pregame ceremonies on Friday will be highlighted by the Shop-Vac MVP presentation along with other end of the season awards.
