Cutters Come out Swinging to Knock off State College 3-2

The Williamsport Crosscutters plated two runs in the top of the fourth inning after stringing together four consecutive hits against State College starter Ian McKinney. The Cutters scored their first run of the game in the second inning after a wild pitch allowed Jesus Posso to score from third base.

The Cutters got five innings out of starter Alejandro Arteaga who allowed two runs in the first inning. Arteaga went five innings allowing two runs on four hits while striking out one batter. Will Morris would hold down the fort in the sixth through eighth innings walking just one batter and striking out three.

Jose Pujols and Jesus Posso both went 2 for 4 on the night and led the Cutters battery attack of eight hits. Jan Hernandez and Venn Biter picked up their first RBI hits of the season and Jason Zgardowski earned his first save of the season facing three batters and striking out one.
