Cutters bats too much for Quebec to handle

New Haven County Cutters News Release
The New Haven County Cutters used a relentless onslaught of hits in their 11-4 battering of Quebec Les Capitales. In the end, everyone in the Cutters' lineup had at least one base hit and the team registered 15 in total.
The top of the lineup did the majority of the damage for the Cutters. Keto Anderson, Chas Terni, Junior Zamora and Bill Peavey combined to go 10 for 16 and each drove in at least two runs. The combination of Anderson and Terni was especially lethal, with Anderson scoring four times and Terni driving in four Cutters.
Anderson and Peavey each belted a two-run home run to right field. It was the third of the season for Anderson and the team leading 12th for Peavey. Peavey's blast was his second in as many days and gives him a total of 48 RBIs for the season, surpassing last season?s high mark for a player of 47.
Lost in all the offense was another solid start from Jarrett Stawarz. The rookie hurler tossed six innings and allowed three earned runs, striking out five and walking three. He leads the team in wins with six.
Outside of a two-run second inning, Les Capitales offense was relatively quiet. Can-Am League home run leader Eddie Lantigua increased his lead in that category when he sent a Stawarz pitch over the left field wall in the second inning, giving him 22 for the year.
Coogie Freedman made only his second start for Quebec and did not fare well, as he was touched up for seven runs on 11 hits.
The Cutters took three out of four against Les Capitales this weekend, marking the first series win against Quebec all season. It was also New Haven County?s fifth win in six games. The team will play host to the Can-Am Grays on Monday at 7:05. Brad Whitworth (3-1) will try to turn the Cutters back-to-back wins into a three game streak as he starts for the home side.
