Curve Fall In Extras 7-6 To Erie

ALTOONA, PA - Christopher White crossed the plate in the bottom of the 12th inning on a bases loaded walk to lift the Erie SeaWolves (AA-Detroit Tigers) over the Altoona Curve 7-6 Sunday afternoon at Jerry Uht Park.

The loss snaps the Curve's season high winning streak of seven games.

The Curve got on the board first Sunday with three runs in the second inning highlighted by a two-run double by Jeff Corsaletti. The Curve would add another run in the fourth on an RBI single by CF Gorkys Hernandez to give Altoona 4-1 advantage.

Erie would then score five unanswered runs with Michael Bertram connecting for a two-run home run and the SeaWolves then took a 6-4 lead heading into the ninth inning.

The Curve evened the game in the top of the ninth with Miles Durham driving home a run with a single and Shelby Ford singling in Jason Delaney to tie the game and send the contest into extra frames.

Erie was able to score the winning run in the 12th without recording a hit in the inning as Curve reliever Ramon Aguero walked the lead off man then after a sacrifice bunt intentionally walked Brennan Boesch. Aguero then walked the next two batters to force the winning run home.

Jonel Pacheco had another three hit game for Altoona. Pacheco went 3-for-6 while Corsaletti finished the day 2-for-6 with a double and two RBIs.

Curve righty Tim Alderson threw 6.0 innings allowing three runs on three hits with three strikeouts to make it 14 starts in a row without a loss for the 6'6 prospect out of Arizona.

The Curve (60-74) and Erie (68-64) close their season series Monday night at Jerry Uht Park. The finale begins at 7:05 p.m. with radio coverage starting at 6:50 p.m. on ESPN Radio 1430, WVAM and the Altoona Curve Radio Network with the Marzoni's In-the-Zone Pre-Game Show.

LHP Daniel Moskos (10-9, 3.74) will start the finale for the Curve while RHP L.J. Gagnier (NR) will make his first Double-A start of the season after being promoted from Advanced-A Lakeland today.

Pacheco has three hits in his last three games and four of his last six

Pedro Alvarez had a five game hit streak snap going 0-for-4 with two walks
