CURVE, Pa - Despite day-long rain fall, the Altoona Curve enjoyed a successful Baseball Bash at Blair County Ballpark on Friday night. Baseball Bash marked the first day that individual tickets to the 2010 baseball season went on sale and over 650 diehard Curve fans were able to stay warm and comfortable on the second level of the concourse of BCB primarily due to the completion of the latest renovations to the park by enclosing the decorative archways on the ballpark with windows.

Fans can now secure seats to any of the 71 home games in the 2010 season. The Curve box office will now be open at the main gates weekdays from 9:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. and every Saturday (including tomorrow) from 10:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. Fans can also secure tickets online at AltoonaCurve.com or over the phone at the same hours at above.

The crowd enjoyed a night filled with live entertainment from local recording artist Matt Wagner, face painting, a variety of kids games, free food and beverage, mingling with fellow Curve fans and the night was capped-off with a breathtaking fireworks show.

A variety of fans came out for the event, from long-time season ticket holders to casual fans that live outside the greater Altoona area.

"We were extremely pleased with the turnout at the park despite the poor weather conditions," said second-year General Manager Rob Egan. "We were even more excited that we were able to move the event 'indoors' to where fans could be warm and comfortable but still have enough room on the second level concourse to have a big event."

"A turnout tonight is very exciting and it's so great to hear all the fans that are so eager and can't wait for April 8 to come around," Egan added.

The Curve season begins in just 25 short days from Saturday when Altoona opens against the Harrisburg Senators (AA - Washington Nationals) on Thursday, April 8 at 6:30 p.m.
