Altoona Curve News Release
ALTOONA- In a strong and immediate commitment to keep family entertainment affordable, the Lozinak family proudly announces today a reduction in single-game and season ticket pricing for the Altoona Curve's 2009 season.
The announcement was made by Altoona Curve General Manager Rob Egan.
Fans will enjoy price reductions of $1 on individual tickets in the Diamond Club (100 Level), Grandstand (300 Level) and UPMC Health Plan Outfield Bleacher areas. Additionally, the unique "Rail Kings" individual tickets on the Toyota Party Deck will be reduced by $2.
Below is the price breakdown for 2009 single game tickets at Blair County Ballpark:
Seating Section 2009 Single-Game Price '08 Price
Rail Kings (Toyota Party Deck) $12 $14
Diamond Club (100 Level) $10 $11
Terrace (200 Level) $8 $8
Grandstand (300 Level) $6 $7
Outfield Bleachers $5 $6

"It goes without saying that our fans are the heart and soul of the Altoona Curve," said Egan. "The Curve have gone above and beyond to provide fun, family-friendly entertainment at affordable prices for the last decade. Today, we are making it an even better value with unprecedented price reductions for single-game and season tickets. This is the first phase of our 'Curve Family Values' initiative to make games affordable for all fans."
Curve season ticket holders will save even more in 2009 with the reduction of prices. Having previously received 10 percent off regular, single game prices, season ticket holders will now enjoy a full $1 discount per ticket off of the regular, single-game rate. With the new ticket pricing system in place, the following savings will be experienced by Curve season ticket holders:
Seating Section 2009 Season Ticket Pricing '08 Price SAVINGS
Diamond Club (100 Level) $639 $702.90 $63.90
Terrace (200 Level) $497 $511.20 $14.20
Grandstand (300 Level) $355 $447.30 $92.30
Outfield Bleachers $284 $383.40 $99.40
Season ticket holders who already renewed their plans and paid in full for the 2009 season before this initiative was announced, will receive a rebate check from the Altoona Curve reflecting the difference in price. Fans who have renewed their plan with a deposit will receive notification of the decrease in their balance due.
"With the current economic situation in the country being what it is, people are understandably cutting back," said Egan. "Our fans are like family to us and we found it necessary to reach out to them. By doing our part, they can still enjoy baseball in Altoona at the rate that's budget-friendly," added the first year GM. "Everywhere around us prices are increasing, so we thought it'd be nice to go against the norm and give them more for their hard earned dollar."
It did not take long for the Lozinak family to make their first ground-breaking move since reacquiring the team.
After finalizing the purchase of the team on December 30, 2008, the new Curve owners wasted little time, just 16 days, before making their first unprecedented move.
"We have vowed since reacquiring the team that we would continue to value our fans just like we did in our first tour of duty," said Chief Operating Officer David Lozinak. "We want fans to know their loyal support over the years has not, and will not ever be taken for granted. We're a family operation that cherishes and reflects the core family values that this region stands for."
The Curve's 11th season in professional baseball is set, as the 71-game Eastern League home schedule has been announced and can be viewed on-line at AltoonaCurve.com. The 2009 home opener is slated for Thursday, April 16 at 6:35 p.m. against the Erie SeaWolves (AA - Detroit Tigers).
