DENVER â Colorado Mammoth forward Curtis Smith was named the National Lacrosse League's rookie of the week Wednesday for his performance in Colorado's 17-10 win over Anaheim.
Smith, the Mammoth's first selection in the 2003 entry draft (24th overall), scored three goals against the Storm â his first career hat trick â and added one assist. The Victoria, British Columbia, native and former Ohio State University star also picked up five loose balls in the game.
