
Curry Leads Blues to Home Opener Victory

The Jr Blues worked their way through the first period headed 0-0 into the locker room. "I liked the way we played the first," said Head Coach Tony Zasowski "I knew if we kept it up, we would start to score." And they did, and quick to start the 2nd period. Pat Curry got the Jr. Blues on the board 2:00 minutes into the period off a Nick Belger shot. Trevor Stone scored on a wrap around 27 seconds later to give the Jr. Blues a 2-0 lead. The Blues would go on to outshoot the Eagles 24-7 in the second period as Curry would score one more to make it 3-0. The Eagles scored off a deflection to make it 3-1 early in the 3rd. Soo final broke through the Jr. Blues penalty kill and scored a rebound goal. However Stefanios Lekkas would shut the door down the stretch as the Jr. Blues close out the game 3-2. The Jr. Blues outshot the Eagles 43-27 for the game.
The Jr. Blues faceoff at 7:05 pm on Saturday 10/12 against the Eagles. Come out and cheer on your Jr. Blues and don't forget the skates and the team will host a Skate with the Jr. Blues event immediately after the game.
