Warriors Split Weekend Series with Johnstown

Connor Lyons 2nd goal of the season at the 18:37 mark of the 3rd period sent tonight's game at Perani Arena into Overtime. Neither team could convert in the OT period sending game two of the weekend series to a shootout.

After Zack Szajner netted his shot in the shootout, Tomahawks goalie Alex Okicki blanked the Warriors the rest of the way. Meanwhile, the Tomahawks put 3 consecutive shots from Omar Mullan, Shane Bednard and Zach Wallace past Warriors netminder Trevor Gorsuch in the shootout from to give Johnstown a split in the weekend series.

Michigan got goals from Zack Szajner (3) and Jon Farkas (2) during regulation time. The Tomahawks Matthew Meier (4), Alex Jaeckle (2) and Ryan McNeely (1) scored during regulation time.

Alex Okicki made 33 saves in picking up his 5th win on the season for the Tomahawks, while Trevor Gorsuch stopped 21 shots for the Warriors.

The Warriors return to action at Perani Arena and Event Center on Friday Oct 18 and Saturday Oct 19 with a weekend series against Springfield. Both games start with a 7PM faceoff.
