
Cubs lose to RedHawks

The Oklahoma CIty RedHawks defeated the Iowa Cubs 4-2 Saturday night at Principal Park.
The RedHawks took a 1-0 lead in the second inning when Brandon Boggs walked. He advanced to second when Wes Bankston was hit by a pitch and took third on a wild pitch. Hernan Iribarren hit a sacrifice fly to drive in Boggs and tally one for Oklahoma City. Boggs was 0-for-2 but scored two runs for the RedHawks.
In the fifth inning Iowa rallied back. jim Adduci singled to left field and stole second base. With two outs Sam Fuld doubled to plate Adduci and tie the game 1-1. Darwin Barney then hit an RBI single to give Iowa a 2-1 lead. Fuld collected two hits, to notch his second consecutive multi-hit game.
Bankston, who was 1-for-3, hit a one-out, two-run home run in the seventh inning to once again give Oklahoma City the lead, 3-2. The RedHawks added an insurance run in the eighth inning on an Iowa error. Esteban German walked and Gregorio Petit reached on an error. German then stole third and scored when the ball got away from Iowa third baseman Bobby Scales, for the 4-2 lead.
Iowa's Casey Coleman (2-3, 3.72) was tagged with the loss, allowing three runs on three hits in seven innings. The RedHawks' Willie Eyre (1-2, 5.40) picked up the win.
The Cubs and RedHawks play Sunday at 1:05 p.m. at Principal Park.
