Norwich, CT - The CT Tigers shutout the Tri-City ValleyCats 4-0 Wednesday night at Dodd Stadium. In the bottom of the second inning the Tigers jumped out to a 1-0 lead following a sacrifice fly from 3B Brett Harrison (0-3) that scored DH Duncan McAlpine (2-4). Tigers C Austin Green (2-3) added an RBI single in the inning to put the Tigers ahead 2-0.

In the sixth inning SS Curtis Powell (1-4) led off the inning with a single to right field. McAlpine shortly followed with an RBI single to put the Tigers out in front 3-0. After Green reached second on a one-out double down the right field line LF Kasey Coffman (1-4) singled to centerfield that scored Green and gave the Tigers a commanding 4-0 lead.

The Tigers pitching was phenomenal as they used three pitchers to combine for a nine inning shutout performance. Starter LHP Preston Jamison pitched four scoreless innings allowing four hits and striking out four batters. Winning pitcher RHP Andrew Harrison pitched three scoreless innings and RHP Tanner Bailey pitched two scoreless innings.

The Tigers wrap up a three-game series with Tri-City tomorrow night starting at 7:05 p.m. at Dodd Stadium. In the final game of the series, Connecticut RHP Buck Farmer (0-0, 0.00) is slated to face off against Tri-City RHP Edison Frias (0-0, 7.20).
