Club de Foot Montreal News Release
MONTREAL - The Montreal Impact announced on Wednesday the addition of a Quebec amateur club to its Scouting and Development Centre. CS Boucherville will join the three other clubs already affiliated to the Montreal Impact Academy development program. The other clubs are Club de soccer Mont-Royal Outremont, Club de soccer St-Lazare Hudson, and Association de soccer Saint-Lambert.
Boucherville's program will be intended for boys and girls in the U9 to U12 category. Registration will be open starting November 6 for the program that will begin in January.
"The Scouting and Development Centre will offer an additional activity to our athletes who want to develop," said CS Boucherville sporting director Jean-Paul Schott. "It will also give us the possibility to discover different sides of the sport with the Impact's educators, while developing our own educators through the program."
St-Lazare's club concluded its first partnership year with the Impact. In addition to training and activities, all the groups played games at Centre Nutrilait and many coaches had the opportunity to get a formation at the Montreal Impact training centre. A player from St-Lazare, Loïc Legault, was also invited to train with the Impact U15.
"The affiliation with Boucherville offers the players a direct access to the Montreal Impact development path," said Patrick Leduc, the Montreal Impact administrative director of soccer operations. "It's exciting to notice the growing interest towards the program. The first experience in St-Lazare was also a success as we already reached many of our goals. "
The CS MRO program will start in November with four groups, including a girls' program and a futsal program, while Saint-Lambert's will start in April 2020.
