FC Cincinnati News Release
CINCINNATI - FC Cincinnati midfielder Allan Cruz's backheel goal in Sunday's 3-0 win over the Portland Timbers won Major League Soccer's AT&T Goal of the Week for Week 3.
Cruz won the award by claiming 32 percent of the vote, earning a one-percent margin over D.C. United's Lucas Rodriguez, whose volley from the top of the box off a Wayne Rooney corner kick garnered 31 percent of the vote. Seattle Sounders FC's Jordan Morris' chip goal came in third with 30 percent of the vote.
The Costa Rican midfielder is currently away on international duty during the FIFA competition window this weekend. Costa Rica will face Guatemala on Friday, March 22, and Jamaica on Tuesday, March 26, and Cruz - as well as FCC captain and countryman Kendall Waston - will miss Sunday's game at New England.
FC Cincinnati will return to action on Sunday, March 24, when the team travels to Foxborough, Mass., to play the New England Revolution at 4 p.m. The match will be televised locally on WSTR Star64, streamed regionally on FloSports and out of market on ESPN+, and carried on the radio on WDJO, the TuneIn app and fccincinnati.com.
