Crunch to Play Home Game at Nationwide Arena, January 12

Syracuse, NY (December 14, 2004) – The Syracuse Crunch announced today that they will play a 'home game' at Nationwide Arena, home of the club's National Hockey League affiliate Columbus Blue Jackets, on January 12 against the Cleveland Barons. The game will take the place of the Crunch's March 27 game, originally scheduled for the War Memorial at Oncenter.

Game time for the January 12 game at Nationwide Arena is 7 p.m.

Following the game, the entire Crunch team will meet fans and sign autographs on the concourse at Nationwide Arena.

To compensate for the one less game played in Syracuse, the Crunch will offer their season ticket holders one of the following options:

Option One: One free ticket, per season ticket, to first 2005 Calder Cup Playoff game held at the War Memorial at Oncenter.

Option Two: One free ticket, per season ticket, to the January 12 game played in Columbus.

Option Three: Two free vouchers, per season ticket, to be used for any remaining 2004-05 regular season game.

The game marks the fifth time the Crunch will have played at Nationwide Arena. Syracuse has a 2-1-1 mark, defeating Cincinnati 3-0 on February 15, 2002 and Cleveland 1-0 on February 17, 2002, tying Cincinnati 1-1 on February 8, 2003 and dropping one game to Cleveland 4-3 on February 7, 2003.

The Crunch hosts Wilkes-Barre/Scranton on Friday, December 17. On Saturday, December 18, Rochester visits Syracuse for the first-ever DestiNY USA Teddy Bear Toss. Both games begin at 7:30 p.m. Tickets can be purchased by calling the Crunch office at (315) 473-4444, at the Oncenter Box Office, located on the State Street side of the War Memorial or by calling TicketMaster at (315) 472-0700.
