Syracuse, NY (October 1, 2009) -.The Syracuse Crunch announced today they have signed center Jared Aulin to a professional tryout contract. In addition, the club has signed left wing Tim Miller to an American Hockey League contract

Aulin, 27, appeared in 16 games with the University of Calgary (CWUAA) in 2007-08, tallying 14 goals, 20 assists and 22 penalty minutes. Aulin skated in 193 combined AHL contests with Manchester, Portland, Hershey and Springfield from 2002-07, collecting 38 goals, 123 assists and 93 penalty minutes. He also skated in 17 games with the Los Angeles Kings in 2002-03, notching two goals, two assists and two penalty minutes. A native of Calgary, Alberta, Aulin was selected by Colorado in the second round, 47th overall, in the 2000 NHL Entry Draft.

Miller, 22, appeared in one game with the Crunch last year, scoring his first professional goal on April 11, 2009 vs. Rochester. A native of Davisburg, Michigan, Miller spent four years at the University of Michigan (CCHA), appearing in a team record (tied) 166 consecutive games, collecting 25 goals, 52 assists and 196 penalty minutes.

In addition, the Crunch have released the following four players from their tryout contracts.

The Crunch open their 16th AHL season on Saturday, October 3 in Wilkes-Barre/Scranton. Syracuse opens up at home the following weekend when they face Adirondack on Saturday, October 10.
