Williamsport Crosscutters News Release

Williamsport, Pa. - The Crosscutters lost 11-2 against the Vermont Lake Monsters on Wednesday night in the opener of a three-game homestand. Vermont scored five runs in the first inning and never looked back as Williamsport gave up its most runs in a single game this season.

Five errors in the field led to eight of the 11 runs being unearned against Cutters pitching.

Logan O'Hoppe blasted a solo home run in the fourth inning for his second long ball of the year. Corbin Williams snagged his 12th stolen base which is tops in the New York-Penn League.

Albertus Barber thrived in his relief role. The 23-year-old righty from Tulsa, Okla. Racked up five strikeouts in two innings while only allowing a bunt single.

Tainwan native Hsin-Chieh Lin was humming along in relief as well but a walk and an error set the table for a three-run homer by Vermont's Jordan Diaz who leads the league with 20 RBI.

Jose Conopoima (0-2) was tagged with the loss and did not make it through the first inning but all five runs that scored against him were unearned.

The farm clubs of the Philadelphia Phillies and Oakland A's will meet again on Thursday night at 7:05 p.m. with Penn State product LHP Taylor Lehman the probable starter for the Cutters.
