Omaha Lancers News Release
RALSTON, NE - Omaha Lancers forward and Boston University commit Hank Crone was named to the 2015 U.S. Under-18 Select Team that will compete August 10th through August 15th at the Ivan Hlinka Memorial Tournament in Breclav, Czech Republic, and Piestany, Slovakia.
During his rookie season in Omaha, the Texas native recorded two goals and nine assists in 54 games played.
"It's an honor to be selected again to represent my country and put on the Team USA jersey," said Crone. "There was a lot of tough competition out there. I feel excited and fortunate to go to the tournament and try to bring back gold."
Prior to coming to the Lancers, Crone scored 17 goals and picked up 23 assists in just 31 games for the Dallas Stars U16 squad. Before the 2014-2015 season, Crone suited up for the USA U-17 Select Team and in four international games notched four goals and three assists.
"It is special anytime you can represent your country," said Head Coach and General Manager Brian Kaufman. "We're excited for Hank and wish him the best of luck in the tournament."
Crone is one of 10 players who helped the U.S. Under-17 Select Team take second place at the 2014 Under-17 Five Nations Tournament, held last summer in Crimmitschau, Germany.
