Crew Kicks Off Season 10 on Saturday vs. Los Angeles at 7:30 p.m. at Crew Stadium

COLUMBUS, Ohio (Monday, March 28) — The Crew's and Major League Soccer's 10th Season begins this Saturday, April 2, when The Crew takes on the Los Angeles Galaxy at 7:30 p.m. at Columbus Crew Stadium. Tickets can be acquired at any participating Ticketmaster outlet or the Crew Stadium Box Office, by calling 614-431-3600, or by logging on to TheCrew.com.

As part of the opening day festivities, The Crew will recognize former midfielder Brian Maisonneuve and his family at halftime. In addition, the first 10,000 fans through the gates will receive the first of 16 commemorative "First Decade Cards." The Crew will top off the day with a post-game fireworks display immediately following the game.

A LOOK AT THE GALAXY

The Los Angeles Galaxy finished second in the Western Conference in 2004 with an 11-9-10 record (43 pts.). The Galaxy advanced to the West Finals before bowing out of the playoffs with a 2-0 loss to the Kansas City Wizards. Guatemalan forward Carlos Ruiz led L.A. in scoring last year with 11 goals and two assists.

Crew Week X kicked off on Sunday, March 27, and leads into the Crew opener on Saturday. Crew Week is the team's annual build-up to the season opener with a variety of fun events, including Crew players and coaches, as well as the Crewzers professional dance team. CREW AND DISPATCH PRINTING COMPANY FORM THREE-YEAR PARTNERSHIP, ONN TO AIR GAMES

Crew GM Mark McCullers and WBNS 10TV and Ohio News Network Vice President/GM Tom Griesdorn announced on March 27 that The Crew and the Ohio News Network (ONN) have finalized a multi-year broadcast agreement. The broadcast agreement is the lynchpin of a larger integrated partnership that positions the Dispatch Printing Company and its affiliated properties as a cornerstone partner with The Crew. U.S. FALLS TO MEXICO 2-1 IN WORLD CUP QUALIFIER, FACES GUATEMALA ON WEDNESDAY

The U.S. Men's National Team lost to Mexico, 2-1, on Sunday, March 27, at Estadio Azteca in Mexico City, Mexico in their second match of the final round of FIFA World Cup qualifying in the CONCACAF region. Crew goalkeeper Jon Busch and defender Chad Marshall did not see any action against Mexico but remain with the team.

The U.S. will play their first home qualifier of the final round against Guatemala on Wednesday, March 30, at 8 p.m. (ET) at Legion Field in Birmingham, Ala., on the third matchday of qualifying this year.

U.S. UNDER-20 NATIONAL TEAM FINISHES SECOND IN SUWON INTERNATIONAL YOUTH TOURNAMENT

The U.S. Under-20 Men's National Team took second place at the Suwon International Youth Football Tournament after defeating Egypt, 1-0, in their final match on March 26 at Suwon World Cup Stadium in Suwon, South Korea. The U-20's beat Argentina (2-1) and lost to South Korea (1-0). Crew midfielder Danny Szetela appeared in all three games in the four-team tournament that served as preparation for the 2005 FIFA World Youth Championship in Holland from June 10-July 2. Crew assistant coach Mike Lapper assisted the U-20's in Korea.

CREW FALLS TO D.C. UNITED, FINISHES 1-1-1 IN CAROLINA CHALLENGE CUP

The Crew finished the Carolina Challenge Cup in Charleston, South Carolina, with a 1-1-1 record. The Crew defeated the Charleston Battery (1-0, March 19), tied San Jose (1-1, March 23), and lost to D.C. (3-0, March 25).

2005 SIERRA MIST MLS ALL-STAR GAME SET FOR COLUMBUS ON JULY 30

MLS Commissioner Don Garber and Crew GM Mark McCullers announced on March 8 that the MLS All-Stars will face Brian McBride and English Premier League club Fulham FC in the 2005 Sierra Mist MLS All-Star Game to be played on Saturday, July 30, in Crew Stadium (live on ABC Sports at 3:30 p.m. ET). Crew Soccer Nation members (season ticket holders) will get a priority offer to purchase tickets before they go on sale to the general public. The on-sale date for the general public will be announced in the near future.

U.S.-MEXICO RETURNS TO CREW STADIUM ON SEPTEMBER 3

Crew GM Mark McCullers, in conjunction with U.S. Soccer, announced on March 9 that Crew Stadium will be the site for the U.S.-Mexico World Cup Qualifying match on Saturday, Sept. 3, at 7:30 p.m. (ET). The game will be shown live on ESPN Classic and Telemundo. Ticketing details will be announced at a later date, but Crew Soccer Nation Members will receive a priority offer to purchase tickets before they go on sale to the general public.
