Columbus Crew SC News Release
COLUMBUS, Ohio - The Columbus Crew announced today that SuperKick Soccer & Sports Performance and TeamZone Training Center has become an Official Team Partner for the 2007 and 2008 MLS seasons. The partnership entitles SuperKick/TeamZone to in-stadium signage, advertising components, merchandising opportunities and rights and benefits granted through the Crew's official relationship with the Ohio South Youth Soccer Association and its membership.
"SuperKick/TeamZone is excited to partner with the Crew and the Ohio South Youth Soccer Association", said President/Owner Jim Waters. "The affiliation will assist us in reaching our target market, and will help promote SuperKick/TeamZone's skill development programs for individuals, teams, schools and regional soccer organizations. This partnership will promote our common mission of raising awareness and appreciation of this great sport".
In addition to the significant promotional relationship, the Columbus Crew team and Crew Juniors youth development club will regularly utilize SuperKick/TeamZone, which is scheduled to open in January 2007 at 409 Orangepoint Drive in Lewis Center. A 62,500-square-foot, climate-controlled facility, it will house a world-class soccer and field sports training center and a sports performance academy focused on developing soccer athletes of all ages, abilities and competitive levels.
"We are extremely pleased to welcome SuperKick/TeamZone to our family of corporate and community partners," said Chad Schroeder, Crew Vice President of Corporate Sales and Broadcasting. "We share Jim Waters' vision of 'soccer and community' and are excited to see SuperKick/TeamZone come to fruition in January."
SuperKick training programs help to improve soccer skills, goalkeeping skills, speed, agility, strength and fitness for youth, high school, college and adult athletes. Its curriculum has been developed by leaders in their respective fields and will be implemented by a local staff of professional directors and trainers. SuperKids Soccer and Fitness programs for children between the ages of 3 and 8 deliver fun ways to develop a healthy, active lifestyle.
TeamZone offers an expansive, flexible, well equipped indoor turf training space for field sports teams, clubs, schools and organizations. TeamZone can accommodate multiple teams for simultaneous training sessions, and will also feature camps, clinics, small-sided leagues, certification classes, recruiting seminars and special events.
A focal point of the facility is the 50,000 square feet of Sprinturf simulated grass. A 50-yard Mondo sprint track, speed and agility training area, and cutting-edge strength, cardio and sports performance equipment complete the training space. The facility also includes a spacious 1,200-square-foot multi-purpose room that is ideal for special events, meetings, viewing parties and team celebrations. Wireless internet access and comfortable viewing areas are provided.
