GREENVILLE, SC - The Hickory Crawdads topped the Greenville Drive, 7-4, before 3,835 fans at Fluor Field in Greenville on Sunday evening . LF Hirotoshi Onaka helped pace the offense with three RBIs in his 'Dads debut.

The Crawdads (24-20, 60-53) struck first with a run in the top of the second against RHP Luis Diaz. DH Kellin Deglan singled to start the frame, before moving to second base on a knock by CF Jordan Akins. Both runners moved up ninety feet on a double steal, and then Deglan darted home on an RBI sacrifice fly by Onaka one out later, making it 1-0.

The Drive (21-22, 55-58) tilted the lead in their direction with four runs in the fourth and fifth frames. RF Henry Ramos got Greenville on the board with a two-run bomb in the fourth, before a two-run single by 1B Boss Moanaroa in the fifth lifted the Drive into the 4-1 lead.

Hickory raced back even with three runs in the top of the sixth inning. 1B Trever Adams led off with a double and quickly came home on an RBI double by Deglan. After Akins worked a walk, C Kevin Torres laid down a sacrifice bunt to advance runners to second and third. Greenville LHP Dylan Chavez (L, 0-1) took over on the mound, and Onaka struck with a two-run base hit, tying the game, 4-4.

After Hickory RHP Taylor Dennis (W, 3-0) kept the tie intact with three scoreless relief innings, Hickory swung in front in the top of the eighth. Adams again sparked the rally with a walk to start the inning. After a strikeout, he raced all the way home on a go-ahead RBI double by Akins. Akins took third on a groundout, and then scored on an RBI double by 2B Rougned Odor one out later, making it 6-4.

An RBI double by Deglan in the top of the ninth inning stretched the 'Dads lead to three runs, and then RHP Phil Klein (S, 7) tossed his second scoreless relief inning in the bottom of the ninth, closing the 7-4 win for Hickory.
