Charleston RiverDogs News Release
CHARLESTON, SC - The Charleston RiverDogs return to Joseph P. Riley, Jr., Park on August 8 following an eight-game road trip that included stops in Greenville and Augusta. The RiverDogs will host the Hagerstown Suns for four games in their first home series in August. This marks the first time since 2004 that the Suns have visited the Lowcountry, giving fans the chance to get a glimpse of this ballclub that in the past few years has included players such as Stephen Strasburg and Bryce Harper.
The "Be Your Own Fan" spirit that has become so synonymous with RiverDogs games over the past few years will include more fantastic promotions during this homestand. To open the series on Wednesday, Aug. 8, local law enforcement personnel will receive free tickets on Law Enforcement Night and representatives from local police departments will also be throwing the ceremonial first pitches. Before the game on Friday, Aug. 10, the three newest members of the Charleston Baseball Hall of Fame will be inducted. The inductees were selected by fan voting that occurred at the ballpark during the last homestand and online. Also, Friday is the Ronald McDonald House Bachelor Auction as 10 RiverDogs players will be auctioned off during the game with all the proceeds going to the Ronald McDonald House. The winning bidders will receive a one-on-one lunch with their player at the stadium catered by Leaf.
The series concludes on Saturday, Aug. 11, with Women in Defense Night as the organization honors the military woman of the year, who will also throw out the first pitch.
Wednesday, August 8 - 7:05 pm: Senior Wednesday, Law Enforcement Night
Along with Law Enforcement Night, Senior Wednesday gives all seniors (65-older) that come to the game the opportunity to take advantage of great deals as they can purchase $5 tickets and receive a voucher for a free hot dog, soda and chips.
Thursday, August 9 - 7:05 pm: Budweiser Thirsty Thursday
All those who are looking to start their weekend early can come to The Joe for Budweiser Thirsty Thursday that features $1 food and drink specials in the Ashley View Pub. DJ Natty Heavy again sets the mood for the evening in the AVP with his always diverse selection of music.
Friday, August 10 - 7:05 pm: General Dynamics Land Systems Force Protection Red Shirt Friday, Piggly Wiggly Postgame Fireworks, Charleston Baseball Hall of Fame Induction, MillerCoors Aluminum Pint Nite, Ronald McDonald House Bachelor Auction
