(WHITAKER BANK BALLPARK, Lexington, Ky.) The Lexington Legends return home for seven games at Whitaker Bank Ballpark beginning Thursday night, and the homestand will include the kickoff of the Lexington's annual Craft Beer Week, Bark in the Park, a Kids Eat and Play Free night and more.
The Legends, class A affiliate of the World Series champion Kansas City Royals, will take on the South Atlantic League Southern Division leaders, the Charleston RiverDogs, an affiliate of the New York Yankees, Thursday through Sunday. The Hickory Crawdads, an affiliate of the Texas Rangers and the first-place team in the Northern Division, will play the Legends Monday night, Tuesday night and Wednesday morning.
The complete schedule:
Thursday, May 12: Legends vs. Charleston, 7:05 p.m. It's a Kentucky Ale Thirsty Thursday, and beer and Pepsi products will be on sale for one dollar each. Friday, May 13: Legends vs. Charleston, 7:05 p.m. The Legends are also serving as host for Lexington's Craft Beer Week Kickoff, highlighting beers from the Lexington area. All fans over 21 are welcome to sample the beers, but a special package is available for $15.00 that includes a box seat ticket and two drink vouchers. Contact Kyle Hargrove at khargrove@lexingtonlegends.com for more information.
The specialty beers will cover the full spectrum of flavor, color, and style.
Friday night will also include a giveaway of a Legends slap bracelet designed by students at William Wells Brown Elementary School of Lexington.
